If you would like to learn more about our Shotokan Karate practice, feel free to visit our dojo and observe a few sessions. Minimum age for enrollment is 10 years old. We ask that you watch at least two sessions before you begin training on the floor. There is no charge for the first class and you are welcome to dress in gym attire. After that, if you decide to continue practicing with us, you can purchase a gi (our martial arts uniform) by reaching out to one of the senior members after practice.
Our fees are structured as follows:
- Dojo dues to cover support for miscellaneous supplies: $30 a month ($15 for full-time students)
- Membership in the Pasadena Japanese Cultural Institute (PJCI provides the facilities where we practice): $25 per year
- Membership in Shotokan Karate of America (SKA) ($75 for first year membership). Family discounts are available. As a member of SKA you can practice at any SKA affiliated dojo. You will also be able to attend SKA regional, national and international events and enroll in rank advancement exams, offered twice a year (Black Belt, once a year).
E-mail pasadenashotokan@gmail.com if you have any questions. Visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PasShotoKarate/ to get a glimpse of recent activities.
